Died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 16, 2018. Born May 27, 1946 in Montreal, QC, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Dunn) Robson.
After moving to Toronto, she met her husband and loving partner of 53 years, Joseph W. Stone. After many years in the Toronto Area they moved to Lower Sackville where they raised their four daughters.
Along with her loving husband, she is survived by her sister Carol (Bill) Harrison, Ottawa; brother Jimmy (Alice), Montreal; daughters Charlene (Dan), Waasis, NB; Jo-anne, Lower Sackville; Katie (Jeff), Bedford, NS; and Shawna (Ryan), Medicine Hat, AB; grandchildren Dylan, Charlotte, Emily, Alexandra, Rebecca, and Joseph. She also had room in her life for her daughters’ friends, especially Kelly Thiessen and Marcy Chafe.
Gloria worked at Hudson’s Bay Company in Toronto and Dartmouth, she was also a caregiver over the years to several children that called her “Mama” and her last job was with Atlantic Superstore in Sackville, where she made many new friends. Joe and Gloria loved travelling and spent many winters in Florida when they retired.
Family and friends were Mom’s passion, she loved talking to people everywhere she went. She grew up spending summers with her family at Lake Connolly and told stories of how happy she always was there.
She loved to visit and entertain and had many lifelong friends. We want to thank everyone that called, sent messages and visited during her; it meant the world to her and to us to see how much everyone loved her. She also wanted to make sure that we passed on her thanks to the Cancer Unit, Palliative Care team, the VON Nurses and the Northwood Home Care CCAs who took great care of her. The family also wishes to express their appreciation to all those who cared for her during her last illness.
She was predeceased by her mother, her beloved baby brother Tommy (Thomas H. Robson), and dear friend Cheryll Cameron.

Reception to follow
Mom was a loving and giving person and making a difference was very important to her, she taught us all to give back what we could, when we could. We wanted to celebrate her charitable spirit and thought it would be a fitting tribute to accept food donations for the Food Bank at the Service for anyone that would like to do so.
Mom requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cobequid Health Centre Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
