1921-2019
At the Campbellton Regional Hospital, NB, on February
2nd, 2019, at the age of 97 years and 5 months,
passed away Gemma Pelletier-Caron of Campbellton, wife of the late
Yves Caron. Born August 24th, 1921 in
Rivière-du-Loup, she was the daughter of Louis Pelletier
and Claudia Brillant.
Proud of her Québécois roots and
Acadian adoption, she was the recipient of many distinctions
recognizing her community and social commitment, particularly among
women and the Francophonie.
She is survived by her daughter Michèle
(Noëlla Richard) and her son Daniel of Dieppe, and by
Campbellton, her daughter Denise (late Jean Laurin) and her son Louis
(Claire Levesque), her grandchildren Olivier, Geneviève,
Dominic and Vincent and her great grandchildren, Aurélie,
Laure and Léonard, as well as her sister Rollande Pelletier
(late Roger Dumont), her sisters-in-law Jacqueline Caron (late Jacques
Michaud) of Québec and Rivière-du-Loup, Jeanne
Bélanger (late Jacques Pelletier) as well as her former
sons-in-law and Jean-Claude Basque, Pierre Ferron and France Caissy
who continued to be part of her family, several nephews and nieces, as
well as her many friends and friends whose friendship she cultivated,
especially Samia, Esther, Janine et Therese.
Besides her parents, her husband and brothers Jacques and
Gaston, she was predeceased by a son Jean at birth and his daughter
Hélène in February 2016.
Funeral will take place on Thursday, May
2nd, 2019 at 11am in the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges
Church, Campbellton. There will be no visitations to the funeral home.
The family suggests a donation to her memory at Notre Dame House, 26
Roseberry, Campbellton E3N 3G4,
