Fred passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved wife Alex, on April 14, 2019.
He was born in Calgary, spent his younger years in Black Diamond, and later moved back to Calgary. Fred has a huge circle of family and friends and brought so much joy to everyone. He was spontaneous, larger than life and incredibly strong in so many ways. Fast Freddie enjoyed road trips, driving his car, riding his motorcycle, golfing, boating, blasting his music, and playing frisbee with his dog, Chevy. Fred leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. His hands and his heart were always full. He is survived by his wife Alex; his sister, Margaret (Ole); and many much-loved cousins. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred Sr. and Charlotte.
Freddie is with the stars.
Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church (200 Main Street, Turner Valley) on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:00am, with a Graveside Service at Foothills Cemetery in Black Diamond. Reception to follow in Turner Valley.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Fred’s memory may be made directly to The Salvation Army (9618-101A Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 0C7; 780-423-2111; salvationarmy.ca/alberta/), or the Mustard Seed (102 11 Ave SE Calgary, AB T2G 0X5; 403.269.1319; theseed.ca/).
