Obituary of Elroy Winston MacKinnon
MacKINNON , Elroy W.- age 82 of West Indian Road passed away March 31, 2019 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in West Indian Road, he was a son of the late Calvin and Minnie (Lively) MacKinnon.
Elroy worked hard as a woodsman and machinery operator for many years until an illness in 1995, after that point he enjoyed spending time outdoors and driving his golf cart.
Elroy is survived by sisters, Mary Gilby and Ferne McCoombs; brothers, Ray (Sandra), Wilson, Floyd (Carol), Leonard and foster brother John (Stella) Morash; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Elroy was predeceased by a brother in infancy; brothers in-law, Lloyd Gilby and George McCoombs; sister in-law, Kelly MacKinnon.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, April 4th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will be held in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Nine Mile River.
