Obituary of Edward Gerald Scallion
76, Herring Cove. It is with heart breaking sadness that the family announces the passing of a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and uncle, on April 10, 2019 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Arthur “Fred” and Marguerite (Marsden) Scallion.
Pup loved to travel, spend time with his grandchildren and watching the Blue Jays play. Before his retirement Ed worked for Canadian National Railroad as a motorman with 36 years of service.
He is survived by his former wife, Kennetta (Purcell); sons, Bruce (Lisa) and Anthony and their children; brothers, Fred (Corliss), Beaver Bank, Terrance (Linda), Hammonds Plains, Bob (Carole), Halifax, Calvin (Gayle), New Minas; sisters, Marguerite (Louis) LeBlanc, Dartmouth and Carole Scallion, Herring Cove; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Brian “Jim” and half brothers, Ronald Keating and Gerald Marsden.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
