Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 at LHSC – University Hospital, at the age of 77, Dorothy Catheleene Chilcott, a lifelong resident of the Corinth (RR4 Aylmer) area. Born in South Walsingham, Norfolk County, to the late Theodore Smith and the late Vera (Tait) Smith.
Dorothy is lovingly missed by her husband of 59 years, Franklin Chilcott. Much-loved mother of: Daphne Dickhout (Joseph) of St. Thomas; Louise Prouse (Bill Ross) of Ingersoll; Walter Chilcott (Chyrl) of Corinth; Charles Chilcott (Tanya) of Corinth; and Melissa Royles (Ron) of Ingersoll. Proud and loving grandmother of eight grandchildren. Dear sister of Birdie Sawdon (Arthur) of Woodstock, Cecil Smith (Phyllis) of Ingersoll, Clifford Smith (Marlene) of Niagara Falls, and sisters-in-law Betty Smith of Tillsonburg (the late Leo Smith) and Joanne Smith of Brownsville (the late David Smith). Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to remember Dorothy’s life will take place on Monday, April 15th, 2019 at 1 pm at the Community of Christ (Corinth), 54246 Eden Line, officiated by Rob Brooks, Minister of Community of Chirst. Friends, neighbours and relatives will be received by the family on Monday from 12 noon to 1 pm service time. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to LHSC – University Hospital through MAURICE J. VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOMES-BURIAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., Tillsonburg (519)842-4238.
