It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dennis in his 79th year on April 20th, 2019 at Brierwood Gardens Long Term Care. Dennis was the beloved husband to Barbara for over 60 years. Predeceased by his dearly loved daughter Denice in 2015. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Peggy (Erik) and son Gordon (Vickie). Loving Pappa to his grandchildren Adam (Rachelle), Joe (Ashlie), Barbie (Joel), Kristian and Daniel. Dennis was predeceased by his parents William and Olive Dallaway of Brantford and his siblings Sheila Adams, Grace Saxton, Mary Jo Dallaway and Donald Dalllaway. Beloved brother to Gerry (Mary), Bill ( Marilyn), David (Judy), Jack and Tim (Sue). Dennis will be sadly missed by sister in law Chris Alonzo (Fred), Helen Dallaway and his many nieces and nephews. Dennis had a life long passion for sports and his family and friends. He grew up playing football and hockey and played golf throughout most of his life. Dennis retired early after 42 years at Hussmann and was then able to spend many days on the beach and travel with Barbara. Visitation will be at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, on Monday the 29th of April from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and in the evening from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. There will be a Memorial Mass in memory of Dennis on Tuesday the 30th of April at 11:00 am at St. Basils Roman Catholic Church located at 50 Palace Street in Brantford followed directly by light refreshments arranged by the Catholic Women’s League in the parish hall. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care and support from all the special people in Long Term Care at Brierwood Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Brantford or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as requested by the family.
