Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness that the family of Denis Gauthier announces his passing after a lengthy battle with dementia, on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at the age of 59 years.
Denis will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Marielle, as well as their children, Denise (Mitch) Matity, Richmond (Shauna), Colin, and Stephanie (Scott) McMaster. Denis will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Brynnlee, Rayna, and Cruz. Denis will also be forever remembered by his mother, Germaine Gauthier, his brothers and sisters, his numerous nieces, nephews, his extended family and dear friends.
Denis was predeceased by his father, Benoit Gauthier, his mother-in-law, Majorie Fuchs, and his fathers-in-law, Julien Lambert and Waldo Fuchs, as well as numerous other beloved extended family members.
Denis was a journeyman carpenter and skilled tradesman who worked at a variety of places but most recently at the University of Manitoba. Denis was actively involved in coaching the many sports teams that his children played on. He loved to smile and joke around with everyone and had a contagious laugh that would get everyone around him laughing. Denis loved dancing and could always get the dance floor hopping.
A celebration of Denis’s life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with Father Owen Steeves officiating.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Denis may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba 10 – 120 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3C 4G2.
