Obituary for David John Leigh
Peacefully, on Good Friday, April 19,2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he had been for several months with complications from kidney disease. David was born Sept 16, 1951, in England, only child of John and Irene Leigh (both predeceased). At age 3, Dundas became the only place he called home. He attended Parkside Highschool, where he made life long friendships, George Brown College, for advanced cooking and later Hamilton Institute for Health (Personal Support Worker graduate). He was a proud owner of Beach Balls Pizza in Dundas, a Minor sports volunteer, holding long time executive positions with Dundas Junior C Hockey and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36. He felt his most rewarding career was as a Personal Support Worker, where his deep compassion and care was most evident and appreciated. His many friends will always remember this gentle soul, his kindness, quick humour and big smile.
Special thanks to Dr. Yang, Sharon, Marisa, and Lisa at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their understanding and support during a very difficult time.
At Beach’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at The Royal Canadian Legion Br36, 280 King St. W., Dundas, Ontario where, if desired, donations can be made to Dundas Blues Junior Hockey Club at that time or by mail:
