David Charles Mersey Saturday April 13th 2019

Mersey, David Charles, 81 of East Kemptville, passed away April 13, 2019 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 11,1938 in Feltzen South, NS, he was a son to the late Howard and Gladys (Corkum) Mersey. David was the Captain on many fishing boats throughout the years, including scallop and fish draggers. He enjoyed gunsmithing, hunting, wood working and eating his deer meat. He was a jack of all trades and tried a little bit of everything. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by his loving wife Shirley (Smith); daughter Lisa (Kevin) Deveau, Red Deer, Alberta; grandchildren Samantha Usher and Keilah Deveau; niece and nephews Sheila Ritcey; Bruce Mersey; Earl Mersey; Ivan Mersey and Raeburne Zinck. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son John Hines; brothers Leo and Vernon; sisters Joyce Ritcey and Ola Zinck. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service as per request. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund or the Charity of your Choice.
