Christopher John Cook of Brooks, passed away in Brooks after a long battle with cancer, on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at the age of 45 years. Chris Cook was born on February 9th, 1973 in Sarnia, Ontario. Chris was predeceased by his father, Clifford Brent Cook and brother David Brent Cook. He is survived by his two children Jordan Lybbert and Keirah Martinez-Cook and companion Khamla Le; mother Wendy (Broaddus) Stambaugh; 7 siblings, Sherri (Chris) Campbell (Kaitlyn, Caleb and Matthew), Karen Cook (Antonio Prete), Kevin (Jenn) Cook (Owen and Spencer), Barb (Sheridan) Smith (JT, Max and Cooper), Tom Cook, Brian Cook and Dan (Tina) Cook (Sophie and Jadon). Chris had a deep love for all sports and took great pride in his fitness and well-being. He was most passionate about soccer and was a member of the Lethbridge Kodiaks. That’s how he loved to spend his free time. Chris also served a mission in Argentina. He loved the language and culture and kept in contact with many of the people that live there. His kind nature and giving spirit will be missed by those who loved him. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 28th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 40 – 10th Street West, Brooks, Alberta. Officiating – Bishop Jason Livingstone. Chris will be laid to rest in the Brooks Cemetery. In memory of Chris, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Jumpstart, 404 Cassils Road West, Brooks, Alberta T1R 0W3.
