Obituary of Cecil Cormier
CORMIER, Cecil – age 63, of Shubenacadie passed away peacefully in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on April 26, 2019.
Born in Truro, he was a son of Lucy and the late Joseph Cormier.
Cecil enjoyed fishing and tying flies. He was a talented carver of decoys and hummingbirds. Cecil had many friends and was a well liked and respected man. He enjoyed many wonderful times with his First Nations friends. Cecil bartered cranberries for the odd moose steak when he could.
Cecil is survived by his mother, Lucy; brothers, Richard (Lisa), Victor (Ellen), Robert, JoJo (Karen), Gerald (Armeli), Emile, Arthur (Colleen), Lionel; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation or service by request.
A celebration of Cecil’s life will be announced at a later date.
A special thank you to the VON Homecare, staff at Willow Lodge, Shubenacadie, and the Palliative Care Team at CEHHC.
Donations in Cecil’s memory my be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
