Catherine’s Obituary
GUPTILL, Catherine Jane – 98 of North Williamston, Annapolis County passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Weymouth, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Grace Ann (Smith) Gaudet. Catherine was the youngest of nine children and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Catherine loved dancing and singing. Springtime with its many shades of green, her flower gardens, the many birds that visited her feeders each day, watching the waves at Port George and going for Sunday drives to see the fall colours and enjoying her ice cream at Jonny’s Cookhouse were all things that brought her great joy. Most of all though, Catherine loved her children in whom she took such pride and comfort. She is survived by daughters Lynn (Laurie) Prall, North Williamston; Karen Cook, Conception Bay South, NFLD, Renee (Manuele) Russo and Lorna Guptill both of Edmonton, AB; sons, Howard Guptill; Dale (Margaret) Guptill and Brian Guptill all of Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL; 16 grandchildren, including special granddaughters Melanie and Dreena; and 36 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Howard; son, Tim as well as eight brothers and sisters. By request, cremation has taken place. Interment of her ashes will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Port George at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448. An online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
