Obituary of Brendan Penfound
PENFOUND, Brendan Victor – The family of Brendan Victor Penfound, 29, of St. Catharines, ON, sadly announce his unexpected passing on April 12, 2019. Six years sober living led Bren on his admirable journey in life. After his own struggles with addiction, he devoted his life to the guidance and counselling of others who as well were looking for a better path. Employed with Youth Speak Canada, he was a motivational speaker for at risk teen struggling with mental health and addiction disease. His life experience and his words of hope and encouragement were shared with anyone he thought he could help. He was a bright light in the darkness for many. The most precious things to Bren were his family and close friends of which there are many. His exceptional soul and exuberance is a tragic loss for all who knew him. A handshake wasn’t enough, it had to be a hug. Bren is survived by his mother and dad, Andrea and Tom Paschert, of Port Colborne, his father and step-mother, Brian and Cherie (Cher-Bear) Penfound, of St. Catharines, his siblings James, Ellysia, Alexandra, Carter and Rachel, his nieces Kylie Penfound and Annabella Paschert, his grandparents Georg and Brigitte Paschert, Ronald Penfound and Bryan Carlson. He was predeceased by his grandmothers Lorraine Carlson and Elanor Penfound. Cremation has taken place. Brendan’s family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 4-6 pm. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
