Bill Davies 2019

In the peaceful comfort of his home and surrounded by his loving wife, church family, and nursing care, Bill went to be with his Lord and Saviour on April 4, 2019. Bill was the best friend, partner, and life-long love of Toni. Together Bill and Toni served and took on life adventures completing each other, in work and in their daily life. A love for each other that was unconditional and supportive, Bill and Toni enjoyed a wonderful relationship, always seen together; an inseparable team. While Bill is physically gone, he will forever be in the memories and in the hearts of all those he touched over his 85 plus years.
Bill and Toni met and began their journey together at a church convention in London, where Bill proudly would joke that Toni stuck out her foot to get his attention. Bill completed several post-secondary education degrees at Western and Luther Rice Seminary before going on to Queens where he attained his Ph.D. Bill proudly presented Toni with a Merit Diploma, mounted on the wall next to his, for the wonderful support Toni had shown him through the years of his education. It took two to complete most every task.
After their marriage, Bill taught for many years at Beal, Saunders, A.B. Lucas, and Oakridge secondary schools teaching math, drafting, and history. Following Bill’s teaching years, at the young age of 40, Bill and Toni listened to the calling they felt clearly spoken to them to go to Haiti as missionaries. Together Bill and Toni worked side by side with children at orphanages, all while leading two churches in the remote and very poor areas of the country. After the wonderful life-changing experiences in Haiti, Bill went on to do itinerant speaking throughout North America as well as in Sicily.
Many thanks to the caregivers for taking such great care of Bill and his wife. Donations are appreciated to the Rotholme Women’s and Family Shelter, 42 Stanley St., London, Ontario, N6C 1B1, the LHSC Children’s Hospital 800 Commissioners Rd E, London, ON N6A 5W9, or the Ivey Eye Clinic, 268 Grosvenor St, London, ON N6A 4V2
A visitation will take place on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Grace Bible Chapel at 1pm – 2pm with a service following at 2pm, Phillip Bruce officiating. Interment to take place at the Parkhill Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to M.Box & Son Funeral home, 183 Broad St. Parkhill, Ontario. Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
