Bertha’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Bertha Combdon, of Howley, announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, on Thursday April 11th, 2019 at the age of 95 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children; Jim Lacey, Lloyd Dove (Elenor), Ivan Curtis (Linda), Larry Curtis (lily), Calvin Curtis (Jessie), Jerry Curtis, Blanche (Bill) Gilley, Melva (Rex) King, Janise Curtis, Wayne Combdon (Wanda), son-in-laws; Wayne Pearce and Ken Barrett, daughter-in-law; Kathleen Curtis, sister; Rose Quinlin, 29 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren. Also a large circle of family and friends.
Bertha was predeceased by her parents; Elihu and Elizabeth Lacey, brothers; William, Samuel, Leslie, and Stanley, sisters; Lucy, Annie, Lillian, Prescilla and Susie, 2 husbands; Frank Curtis, and Cyril Combdon, son; Robert Curtis, daughters; Milda Pearce, and Pauline Barrett, grandson; David Lacey, and special sister-in-law; Marion Lacey.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church, in Howley, NL, on Friday, April 12th, 2019 from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continuing on Saturday, April 13th, 2019, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will taker place from on Sunday, April 14th, 2019 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Mark Locke officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the church cemetery in Howley, NL.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church, Howley, in Bertha’s memory would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
