DUYKERS, Barbara
March 20 1956 – April 2 2019
It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barbara Monica Duykers on April 2, 2019. It is rare to come across such a giving person. Barb gave all of herself to her family and friends. “No” was not a word in her vocabulary when it came to helping someone in need, no matter the task. Barb was a woman with many questions, but she had all the answers.
She was the caring, beloved wife, and best friend of 37 years to Fred Duykers. Devoted, loving and proud mother to Bryan Duykers (Courtney Helt). Fur mummy to her loyal fur baby Maverick. Adored and loved immensely by her parents, Ewald & Edith Jaschkowski. She will be sadly missed by brothers Terry, Peter and Walter, by brothers-in-law Ron and Marc, sister-in-law Jaqueline, and by her many nieces and nephews.
All will remember Barb as a compassionate, selfless, hardworking, stubborn overachiever. She was a strong and proud woman who served as a Constable in the RCMP for 37 years. A light like Barb’s will never die; it shined so bright in the lives of those she touched. Barb will forever be in our hearts and missed deeply.
Family and friends are welcomed to Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Tuesday April 9, 2019 from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA would be appreciated.
