May 21, 1947 – October 16, 2018. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Bourgeois on Tuesday, October 16th in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII. Barbara’s career was spent working at various car dealerships. Her last place of work was at Brett Pontiac working in the warranty department. In 2010 Barb and her husband Mannie moved to the place she loved, St. Peter’s Cape Breton. Barbara quickly immersed herself in the community. She became a member of the Bonnie Brae Senior Citizen’s Club, the Red Hat Society, and she volunteered at the St. Peter’s Villa. Barb is survived by her husband Emanuel “Mannie” Bourgeois; daughters, Cathy (Clayton) Carter, Lower Sackville; Angie (Dale) Densmore, Halifax; and son, John Stone, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Kurtis, Kyle, Alisha, Brad, and Aidan. Barbara cherished her family and friendships throughout her life. She had a smile that would light up a room and you were always made to feel welcome in her home. Barb was predeceased by her late parents, Gladys Roache, and Francis Murray, and her brother, Douglas Murray. No visitation. Cremation has taken place. Service to be held in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter’s Cape Breton on Friday, October 26th at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
