Anne Marie Haynes 1934 2019

Obituary of Anne Marie Haynes
HAYNES, Anne Marie (nee Stuchl) – Died at 5:20 a.m. on Easter Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Hotel Dieu- Shaver Hospital, St. Catharines– though not for lack of grit. Devoted mother of John (Neil) and loving Nana of Isabelle, she is also survived by her sisters Joan (Herb) and Margret (Chuck); 9 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great nieces.
The eldest of 4 siblings, Anne Marie was born Sept. 7, 1934 to Anna (Mazur) and Franz Stuchl in Dortmund, Germany. As a child, she aspired to become a pediatrician when she grew up. The war interrupted her education.
Though painfully shy at times, Anne Marie met life’s challenges, both small and daunting, with resilience and perseverance. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1957 with her two younger sisters, she started working in a Toronto light bulb factory. Marriage to Jack Haynes, brought her to St. Catharines. Anne Marie worked as a waitress and hostess at The Beacon Motor Inn in Jordan, from 1968 to 1970. From 1971-1999 she was a secretary at Davidson Partners stock brokerage house. Upon retirement, she cultivated her passion for travel by visiting many countries in the Caribbean, South America, Europe and the Middle East. However, her greatest joys were her home and her family. She was thrilled to be blessed later in life than most with a granddaughter.
Anne Marie’s funeral will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Jordan at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23rd. Following the burial on site, a reception will be held in the Hearth Room of the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s would be greatly appreciated by the family.
.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
