Golding, Alan Robert Purvis – (WWII Veteran, Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 52, Past Master Royal Arthur Lodge #523 AF & AM and District Deputy Grand Master of Peterborough District, Pathway of Fame Inductee) – Peacefully passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Una Golding (nee Sinclair) for 72 years. Loving father of Alana Golding of Toronto, Alvin and his wife Millie of Winnipeg, and Wendy Golding (Mark) of Winnipeg. Cherished Opa Kylie, Brandon and Dara and Great Opa of Ariel, Kaiya, Ariana, Malik and Norah. Alan is predeceased by his parents, William and Alice (nee Monk) and his brother Reginald. Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE (2510 Bensfort Rd. , Peterborough) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Masonic Service will take place at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Legion Service 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Alan’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Highland Park Funeral Chapel. Pastor Ben Denhoed officiating. An interment will take place at Highland Park Cemetery. A Reception will follow. In memory of Alan, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion “Branch #52” or Gilmour Memorial Baptist Church “Building Fund”.
