Obituary of Janet Elizabeth Farnell
FARNELL, Janet Elizabeth
Janet passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the age of 66 years. She was predeceased by her father John Spirito; mother Edith Spirito (Rutherford); and twin sons, Andrew and Matthew. Janet is survived by her husband Philip Farnell; son Samuel (Trina), grandsons, Hayden and Cooper, granddaughter Julie; son Logan (Tiffanny), granddaughters Fayde and Raeve; brother Andrew Spirito; nieces, Ashley, Nicole, and Andrea; grandnieces and grandnephews, Brayden, Kayden, Tia, London, Everliegh, Aria, and Kamryn. Janet was proud to be a Social Worker with the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan from 1984 – 2014. She served in many roles with the Ministry of Social Services over the years. She also had a desire to help dysfunctional families become whole again, right those wrongs, and mediate the problems to the good. In the final years of her service, she used her bright, thoughtful mind in the policy branch, striving to make the world a better place for the most vulnerable. Janet loved to laugh and to make others laugh and she was good at both. She loved the outdoors. Kayaking in the lakes of B.C. and Riding Mountain National Park. Campfires on shores of lakes and at night blowing bubbles and watching them drift away catching the gold and red hues of the fire. Waterfalls calmed her and starry nights and shooting stars captured her imagination. The thought and achievement of doing something without anyone’s aid burst her pride. Tai Chi was another of her loves challenging her abilities, structure, mastering and perfecting the art. She was a prolific reader and enjoyed the sensation of living the lives of the characters in her books. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Janet loved her friends as well keeping in touch as best and as much as she could. She will truly be missed and forever loved.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Janet
