Camille Salo 2019

Camille Salo
1940-2019
Salo, Camille Marie R.N.
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Camille Salo in
her 78th year on April 1, 2019 at St. Catharines General Hospital. She
slipped away peacefully while holding dearly to her family’s
hands after courageously battling medical adversity for several
months. Camille leaves behind her loving husband Allan Salo of
fifty-six years, her son Kari (Amy), daughters Lisa, Taina and
grandchildren,Colleen, William and Matthew. Camille was the only
daughter of Maurice and Simone Gravelle of Sudbury, Ontario, both
predeceased. Camille was a graduate RN, from St. Elizabeth School of
Nursing, St. Joseph Hospital, Sudbury, Ontario. She nursed for over
forty years at many locations in her career including “Wake
Medical Center” in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she was best
known as “Miss Camille” the Canadian Nurse. Her
professionalism, dedication and proficiency was well respected as a
charge Nurse for the Med-Surg Unit. She would always make sure her
ventilator dependent patients were well looked after and in just three
short months, she was presented with a plaque for “Nurse of the
Month”. Camille was well loved by all who came her way. In
retirement years she devoted much of her time with family members and
enjoyed the Festive seasons with them. She will be forever in our
hearts and live on. As per Camille’s wishes cremation has taken
place with A private family burial.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Camille Salo 2019..
