Geddes, Grant
Born on May 25, 1923, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2019, age 95. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years Marie (née Featherstone). Grant is survived by his two children, Kevin Geddes (Cathy) and Karen Lloyd (Nigel); four grandchildren, Chris Geddes, James Lloyd (Nikie), Julia Gregoire (Paul) and Ian Lloyd (Jennifer); and five great grandchildren. Grant lived his whole life in Coatsworth, Ontario where he owned and operated, for 54 years, James Geddes and Sons Ltd., the grain elevator established by his father. He enjoyed boating, golfing, and card playing and was a long time fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Most of all Grant enjoyed his family, with many memorable family gatherings. The family would like to thank Madeline Shanks, the doctors and nurses of the Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington and of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington or Talbot Street United Church. Visitation at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Thursday, April 4 from 2-5 pm, and 7-9 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Grant’s life will be held Friday, April 5 at 11 am at Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre. Family and friends are invited to share their words of comfort and remembrance or make a charitable contribution at www.reidfuneralhome.ca.
