Obituary of Judith Ann Wakelin
Wakelin, Judith Ann (nee McDonald)
Surrounded by her husband and daughters, our beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away on December 16 at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John; daughters Robin Lynch (Steven), Sarah Wakelin (Michael Cleary) and Pam Hudson (Drum); cherished grandsons, Jake Cleary and Evan Lynch; sisters Nancy Thomas (Gary) & Martha McKenzie (James); sister-in-law, Carol Fisher; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Joan McDonald. Judy’s love and kindness towards others was exceptional; she will be remembered by all who knew her for her warm smile, generous hugs and unwavering compassion. She only saw the good in people. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Harmony House, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as Dr. Malik and nurses, Shara, Fanny and Theresa in 7A South and the ICU at Victoria General Hospital; you are a special group of people, A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 1319 Mills Rd., North Saanich, BC at 1 p.m. on December 19. Reception to follow. A second service will be held 1 pm Friday August 16, 2019 at St. Paul’s Chapel of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 240 College Street at King Street East, Cobourg, Ontario for her eastern family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy’s name to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 861 Fairfield Rd., Victoria. “May the road rise to meet you; may the wind be always at your back; may the sun shine warm upon your face and rains fall soft upon your fields; and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
