Betty Doris Morris (nee Court) of Stratford, died suddenly at the age of 93, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in Ellice Township on May 3, 1925, the daughter of Daniel and the former Amanda Graul. She was married to Arnold Joseph Morris on March 2, 1946 and had four children. She farmed with her husband in the Gore of Downie for several years before moving to 22 Regent Street where she resided until moving to Spruce Lodge, Stratford. She was a member of the Women’s Institute for many years. She was also a Registered Nurse Assistant at the Stratford hospital and later at the late Dr. Jeffrey’s dental office. She was a long-time and very active member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall of Stratford. Betty is survived by her children Patricia Gooch (David), Rose Ann Morris, Shirley Delisle and Joseph Morris. Also survived by five grandchildren; Charlotte Gibson, Lance Gibson, Rene Delisle, Christopher Delisle and Sarah Ingram-Morris. She has eight great grandchildren; Tasha Gibson, Matt Gibson, Noah Gibson, Austin Stoddart, Devin Delisle, Travis Delisle, Marina Delisle and Evan Delisle. She also has four great-great grandchildren; Thomas Delisle, Xander Delisle, Ashton Delisle, Aubriana Gibson and Carter Gibson. Betty is survived by her brother George Court and sisters “Dolly” Deloris Contardi and Marjorie Bodemer. Predeceased by siblings; Gerry, Clifford, Danny, Robert, Barney “Vernon”, Shirley Harloff, Eileen Warris, Cora Warris and Nora Gardner. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, 106 Morgan Street, Stratford, at 3 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019. All are welcome. A Celebration of Life gathering will also be held at the Stratford Legion (Branch 8), 804 Ontario Street, Stratford, on Sunday May 12, 2019 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.
