Wilma H Clark 19292019

Wilma H. Clark
1929-2019
Wilma Hanna Hilton Clark September 28, 1929 – March 4,
2019
Wilma passed away peacefully March 4, 2019, at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St
Andrews, NB.
She lived her life robustly and with music in her heart! Her life was
a true love story with her beloved John. After seeing her perform
“The Little White Wash Building by the Barn” at the
Algonquin Hotel in the summer of ’53, a whirlwind romance
followed, with their wedding July 1954.
Wilma loved to sing, anytime and anywhere, just give her a note and
off she went. Would always bring a smile to anyone who heard her
captivating voice.
She was born and raised in Toronto, one of 4 siblings to Sam and Nancy
Hilton. After marrying John, they moved to Kennebecasis Park, NB to
start their family, later moving to Fredericton and finally retiring
to St. Andrews. Through it all, Wilma was the ultimate
homemaker.
Wilma sang with the Leslie Bell Singers, in Toronto
(’50-‘53) and toured Canada and the US with the choir.
John & Wilma travelled the world on many GM trips, tearing up the
dance floor wherever they went. They spent many winters in Siesta Key
and Destin, Florida; and Rancho Mirage, California, making many
friends along the way. Summers were spent with family in St Andrews by
the Sea.
Her candid camera shots of gatherings, good times and special
occasions were legendary; along with her meticulously created photo
albums.
Wilma was a ferocious card shark, particularly with cribbage; and
loved her crossword puzzles.
She played tennis, golf and curled, skipping an unbelievable 8 ender
with her team.
Wilma loved the water, swimming for hours in the pool or sailing the
Bay of Fundy on the “White Knuckles” fondly named after
her vice like grip on the rails!
But most of all she loved her family. Wilma leaves behind her husband
John and children, Cynthia, John Jr (Pam) and Jim (Beth), grandkids
Jay (Talia), Kyle and Chelsey and great grandkid Jack; and her in-laws
Nancy Wolfe, Richard and Margie Clark and their families.
Wilma was predeceased by her sisters Marnie, Shirley and brother Jim.
Aunt Wilma will be remembered by all her Quennell, Fick and Hilton
nieces, nephews and their families; and cousin Gertrude in Belfast.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks
Street, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 –
