William Crain
1937-2019
William Crain passed away on March 3, 2019. Born in Upper
Kent, he was the son of the late Gordon and Lillian (Foster)
Crain.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Leta (Harding) Crain; sons,
Richard (Sarah) of St. Albert, AB. and Kevin (Sheila) of Dartmouth,
NS.; daughter Shelley of Riverview; grandson Richard (May) of St.
Albert, AB.; and granddaughters Melanie (Linwood) of Dartmouth and
Margaret of St. Albert. William is also survived by his sisters, Edna
Foren (late Ron) of North Bay, ON.; Darlene Higgins (late Paul) of
Presque Isle, Maine and Lois Ruff (Cy) of Oshawa, ON. Predeceased by
his parents, his son David (1972), sisters Jenny Tomlinson, Mona Hills
and Joyce McAllister; brothers Jack and Winston Crain.
Bill worked for CN for 31 years, retiring in 1994. Bill was
an avid sports fan, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also a
huge Nascar fan and loved his yearly bus trips to the various tracks.
When his health permitted, he loved to golf, curl and especially
bowl.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday from 6 – 8pm. A funeral
service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00am with Rev.
Charles Cook officiating. The interment will take place at a later
date in Arthurette Freewill Baptist Cemetery, Arthurette, NB.
Donations can be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or
the CHU Dumont Foundation Dialysis Unit.
