Doris Wells – passed peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie surrounded by her family on Friday March 01, 2019 in her 80th year.
Doris, was the loving wife of the late Bill Wells and the loving mother to Micheal Wells (France LaRose) of Ottawa and Corey Wells (Maureen Forbes) of Barrie. She will also be sadly missed by her brother Orville (Donna) Brown and Kay (Dennis) Freeborn of Meaford. She was predeceased by her brother Bill “Chirp” Brown. Cremation has taken place. Doris was an avid reader and volunteered at the “net shed” for the Friends of the Meaford Library. She was employed by Dr. Ian Irvine at his medical office in Clarksburg for many years. She enjoyed travelling and later in life visited many parts of the world including Jamaica, Cuba, Austria, Germany, South Korea, Hawaii and the United Kingdom. However, of all the places that she visited, she was most at home at her cottage on Kiawana Beach.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm. at the Gardiner-Wilson Funeral Home, Meaford. 519 538 2550. A private family interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital (Barrie) or the Meaford General Hospital would be appreciated.

    I am so sorry for your loss and wishing that I could join you today to celebrate her life and share memories. I will miss my annual visit with her over many years.
