Passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease and cancer, Walter (Wally) Spurrell age 84 years.
Predeceased by parents Walter and Ethel Spurrell; and brothers Jack, Doug, Joe and Austin.
Leaving to mourn his wife of 63 years – Rebecca (nee Callahan); sons Doug (Kim) of Lake Echo, NS, Gary (Bev) of Edmonton AB, Mike (Patty) of St. John’s, NL, Tim (Lisa) of Airdrie, AB, and Darrell (Linda) of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren Jason, Lauren, Amanda, Ashley, Justin, Ryan, Adam and Tyler; brother Don (Theresa), sisters Mary Taylor and Helen Tuck; and sisters in law Josephine and Pat.
Cremation has already taken place at Walter’s request. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service with be held in the chapel at Caul’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
