Bill was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side in the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on February 24, 2019.
Bill is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of 65 years, his children Brian (Marie), Karen (Frank), his grandchildren Jenn, Steven, Robert, Lauren and his great- granddaughter Emma. Bill was predeceased by his Mom and Dad and his brother Bob.
Bill’s working career spanned 40 years as a Purchasing Agent for Teck (Cominco) retiring in 1990. His passion was carpentry and woodworking, spending many years building up his cabin at his beloved Christina Lake property. Bill’s workshop creations have adorned many homes since his retirement. Skiing and golfing, wine and sausage making with his buddies were also important to him.
Our family wish to thank all the medical staff who cared for Bill during his many hospital stays. Special thanks to the Pharmacy Staff at Safeway and a special thank you to Dr. Hii who cared for Bill for many years.
Our family will have a Celebration of Life for Bill on Thursday, March 28 at l:00 pm at the United Church Hall on Pine Avenue in Trail. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
