COLE, Velma – Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of long-term illness’ on Thursday, February 28th, 2019. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing. Velma is survived by her children, Steve Cole (wife Susan and their children Jillian and Brittany), Bryan Cole (wife Krista and their children Dillon, Devin, Davis, Delaney and Dakota), Wendy Cole and Jaysen Cole. Velma’s husband Russ predeceased her in 2007. Survived by her brothers Ross Marshall and Gord Marshall (and his son Evan and partner Ali). Velma started her career at Western Ontario Breeders, raised her four children while supporting her husband and his career. After moving to Tavistock in 1976, Velma worked for Tavistock Veterinary Services until her retirement . Velma was passionate about home decorating and gardening and pursued a degree as an Interior Designer. Her passion for music led to her playing the organ at Huntingford Christ Church. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:30 pm with Father Chris Travers officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society – Breast Research or the Brain Tumour Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
