CAREY, Stanley Francis (Former Deputy Reeve Otonabee Township, Entrepreneur, Lover of Country Music, Musician): At Peterborough Regional Health Centre surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 1, 2019 in his 83rd year. Stan, beloved husband of almost 60 years to LouAnn (nee Macdougall). Loving and devoted father of Bill (Janelle), Laurie, Greg, Sandy (Bob), and Matthew (Kelli). Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Carl (Bev), Anna Hoar (Frank, predeceased), and predeceased by his brothers Gerry and Ron. Dear brother-in-law of Bob Macdougall (Marie, predeceased), Irene smith (Gary, predeceased), Sandy (Maggi), and predeceased by Mike (Betty Macdougall). Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Son of the late George Carey and Mary Heffernan. Stan was a restless soul who was seldom idle, always wanting to stay busy, whether it be in politics, the auto industry, or Friends of Bill and Bob through the Grapevine. Stan worked until he was 78 years of age. Relatives and friends are invited to a Liturgy of the Word Service in HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Friday, March 8th 2019 at 11:00 am. Father Peter Seabrooke officiating followed by Memorial Visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In memory of Stan, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
