Roy Taylor 19512019

Roy Taylor
1951-2019
We, the family of Roy Lewis Taylor, regret to announce his
passing at home on Saturday, March 16th,
2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 11th, 1951, in Glace Bay, he
was the son of Eileen (Sweet) Taylor and the late V. Lester Taylor. He
was raised in Sydney by the late Roy and Katie Cole.
During his younger years, Roy was a proud member of the
Sydney and District Little League Cubs. Years later, Roy would spend
his summer months coaching his beloved Cubbies and in the winter,
could be found in numerous rinks throughout the province, cheering on
Greg and Brent.
In 1995, Roy and family ventured to Inuvik, NT, where they
would call home, before returning to Sydney in 2011.
Roy is survived by his wife, Corinne (MacNeil); stepsons,
Greg (Jillian) Connell, Inverness and Brent Connell (and his son,
Parker), Hay River, NT; daughters, Linda and Catherine; son, Michael;
eight grandchildren (all in Ontario); brother, Kirk, Leitches
Creek.
Roy was true to form in the Frank Sinatra song, “I did
it my way”.
Special thanks to Dr. Anne Frances D’Intino, Linda
Murphy and Holly Winn for taking such wonderful care of Roy. We would
also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our friends and family
for their continued support throughout Roy’s courageous
fight.
The family will hold an open house in celebration of
Roy’s life on Saturday, March 23rd,
2019, from 1- 4 p.m., located at 10 Maclellan Avenue, Sydney
Forks.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society
of Cape Breton County.
