Obituary of Rose von Richter
VON RICHTER, Roswitha ‘Rose’ peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family at Summit Place, Owen Sound March 22, 2019. Rose von Richter (nee Lueke) of Owen Sound in her 74th year. Loving mother of Tomas von Richter of Durham, Angela Guse and her husband Paul of Belleville, Julie Pretty and her husband Peter of Owen Sound, David Brown and his partner Darlene McKever of Stayner and Darlene Holmes and her partner Rob Howell of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Jayme, Kayla, Tyler, Sarah, Jacob, Ava, Katrine, Kerstin, Sam, Ashley, Darcy and Kelli and 5 great grandchildren. Survived by brothers Udo Lueke (Uschi) and Burghardt Lueke (Sonja) both of Germany. Predeceased by parents Gerda (nee Frie) and Helmut Lueke. Rose was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. As a loving mother and homemaker, Rose was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially around the holidays. Until her health conditions made it impossible, Rose was active in the life of the Park Head United Church and served in the Women’s Institute and sang in the choir. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. The family gives their greatest and warmest gratitude to all who cared for Rose during her last days. The funeral service will be conducted from the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Saturday March 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of remembrance to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
