My son’s name was “Skye Robyn Larke”, born on July, 20, 1977 and passed March, 04, 2019. In the same spirit as Terry Fox, whom he admired greatly, he stood on both legs to win for Serpent Of Spain RC Truggy, with Cancer, enduring agony from Double Juvenile Diabetic Renal Transplant, 5.5 yrs on Renal Dialysis. He won the Niagara National RC Truggy Championship in 2008 and went on winnin guntil only a few months before his passing. His motto was,”We only have today, so to Hell with the pain!” Skye Robyn made everything he built and drove, “fly!”He was a Centennial Grad in Race Bike Design/Bombadier Flight Mechanics, working at Ducati/Yamaha.He loved to take big bikes out on the highway to diagnose by listening to the engines, which was music to his ears.He was a warrior in every sense of the word and taught us the meaning of,”fear not!”in the face of the worst odds.He went lovingly with Jesus, following his christening while on ventilator.A last request to his Mom, who misses him with all her brokenhearted days. Love you for always my beautiful, courgeous, son Skye Robyn Larke, until we meet in Paradise.Love Mom xox
I sang my beloved son “Skye Robyn Larke”, his Highland childhood Lullabies, that I sang at his birth and while growing up. He was named after the Isle of Skye, a family seat of this Mother’s Clan Macdonald.Flora Macdonald, a great aunt in our Clan, was who aided King Charles Stuart’s escape to Isle of Skye, onto France.I sang it, holding his hand, until he crossed over to the Other Side and to the Halls of his Ancestors. It is old family Scottish tradition to do so, as it lends spiritual strength and great comfort, during such a difficult time.”Slan mo Chridhe Skye”, Gaelic for “Rest, my heart Skye.” https://youtu.be/Dxr09F5pnwY
