Peacefully at Marianhill Residence Pembroke, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday March 22, 2019 in his 86th year. Richard Mielke of Petawawa, loving husband for 64 years to Shirley Mielke (nee Molson). Loved and cherished father of Donna Harrington (Cecil), James Mielke and Janet Leeck (Pat). Predeceased by his son David Mielke. Father-in-law of Donna Mielke (nee Toop). Devoted Grampa to Meggan (Jeff), Jennifer (Chris), Matthew, Ben, Michael, Tara (Mike) and great grandchildren Sophie, Forest. Logan, Amber and Cayden. Son of the late Samuel and Emma (nee Antler) Mielke. Predeceased by his brothers, Elmer, Oscar, Lorne, Norman, and Wallace Mielke and sisters Beatrice Goglin and Hazel Mielke. Sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to share their memories of Richard with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon March 26th at 2 o’clock in Christ Lutheran Church, 516 Airport Road, Pembroke. Spring Interment Christ Lutheran Cemetery. In memory of Richard donations to Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County or the Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated.
