PERRY, Richard Norman ~ Age 68, Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, in Halifax Infirmary, QE II, Halifax. Born on March 27, 1950, in Wolfville, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Donald S. and Edith B. (Joudrey) Perry. Richard worked in communications aboard HMCS Protecteur, before becoming a correctional officer at the Kings County Correctional Centre, Waterville. He left corrections in 2015 after 33 years, and then worked as a commissionaire, landing his “dream job” at Camp Aldershot during the past year. Richard was a sports enthusiast, avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of Berwick Heights Golf Course. He will be missed by his cats, Luc, Smith, Toby and Dolly. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Ruth E. Meisner; daughter, Monica Perry, Port Williams; son, James Perry, Waterville; sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Baltzer, Waterville; Pam Dutton, Berwick; brothers, John Perry, Waterville; Michael (Jane) Perry, Berwick; sisters-in-law, Sandra and Shirley Perry, both of Waterville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister in infancy; brothers, Donald and Douglas Perry; brother-in-law, Patrick Dutton; niece, Kerri Lynn Dutton. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place and be announced for late April in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Lic. Justin Halbersma officiating.
