Obituary of Papa Joe Dries
DRIES: Joseph Peter ‘Papa Joe’ –
A resident of Lighthouse Cove, and formerly of London and Chatham, Papa Joe Dries passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the age of 79.
Born in Chatham, Papa Joe was the son of the late Henry and Rose (Verslycken) Dries.
Beloved husband of the late Terry Paret.
Loving father of Mark Dries (Tracey) of Thorndale, Jon Dries of London and Amy Williams (Darol) of Mt. Brydges.
Very proud Papa of Kristin Dolby (Michael), Tyler Dries (Becky); Heather Keary (Liam) and Justin Williams.
Great-Papa to Calvin and Edison Dolby; and Darcie-Ann and Arlow Keary.
Papa Joe was survived by his brothers Raymond and Edward (Liz) as well as his sisters Joanne Sullivan (Ron), Elaine Dillon (Dan) and Helen Cree (David).
Brother-in-law to Sandy Dries. Predeceased by his brother Charles Dries (2019).
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Papa Joe enjoyed being around his family as well as fishing, ice fishing and hunting with his friends in Lighthouse Cove.
Cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Papa Joe to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
