1922-2019
REXTON, NB – Myrtle Elizabeth McWilliam, 96, of Hillside View
Special Care Home and formerly of Rexton, NB passed away peacefully on
March 8, 2019.
Born in Clairville, NB on June 2, 1922, she was the daughter
of the late Albert and late Catherine (Scott)
Little.
Myrtle and her husband Jim were successful business owners
for many years. She loved to travel and they traveled to many
conventions in different areas of the world with their friends in the
Lions Club. She was also a member of St. Andrews UCW, as well as
having much involvement in various church and community
activities.
She was beloved by all who knew her; a sincere friend, a
perfect hostess and a woman of many talents, among them a wonderful
cook, seamstress and a passionate crafter.
Myrtle was a loving mother and will be dearly missed by her
three sons, Don (Marg) of Upper Rexton, Ken (Barbara) and John (Karen)
both of Riverview, her six grandchildren, Ginny Thomas (Stan), Stephen
(Nancy), Scott (Chantal), Amy Dionne (Larry), Susan Nickerson
(Nathan), Joshua (Lisa) and her ten great-grandchildren. She will also
be fondly missed by her sister-in-law, Edna Douglas; special niece
Janice Little, as well as many other nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of seventy-four years,
James McWilliam in 2016, two sisters, Ruth Reid, Dorothy Dunn, three
brothers Ben, George and Burton
Little.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-9 pm at
Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto, NB. A
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019
at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew’s United Church, Rexton, NB, with
Rev. Claudia Keller officiating.
If desired, memorials made to St. Andrew’s United
Church General Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated by the family. A reception will follow
the service at the Rexton Lions Club. Arrangements are in
care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
