Myrtle Alice Rushton
1940-2019
Rushton, Myrtle Alice, 79, Lower Debert, NS. We
celebrate a life which left us on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Beaverbrook, Col.
Co., she was a daughter of the late Erik Johnson of Sweden and Alberta
(Pemberton) Johnson of Gore, Hants Co. Myrtle was a member of the
Great Village Garden Club and a member of the Nova Scotia Rhythm
Cloggers. A mother and grandmother that always called to see
how you were, sent cards for all occasions. Made the best sugar
cookies, let you watch the movie Annie over and over until the VHS
tape wore out, made us “boxes” at Christmas time and
always had a hug and a smile for us. We will all miss you and think of
you every day.
She is survived by daughters Pearl Bouley (Joe) of Trenton,
ON, Heather Baker (Glenn) of Acton, ON, Wanda Vidito (Tim) of
Annapolis Valley, Stephanie Rushton of Lower Debert; grandchildren
Joanne, Jennifer, Evan, Victoria, Allison, Dawson, Eliza, Matthew;
twin sister Rhoda Rushton of Lower Debert; brother Leslie Lloyd
(Wanda) of Fort Ellis; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Roy Rushton; a
grandson, Jacob; sister, Harriett Faulkner; foster mom, Liney
Archibald. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where a Celebration of Life
will take place on Wednesday evening, March
13th from 6-8 pm. Donations in memory made be
made to Diabetes Canada or to the Children’s Wish Foundation
