Muriel has touched us all with her strength, her conviction, her goodness, her joy and her friendship.
Muriel was born in Grenada in May of 1939. She lived a full and meaningful life in Grenada before moving to Canada. At first she lived in Montreal and then, for a longer period of time, in Toronto. In Canada she chose work where she was helping and improving the lives of people of all ages. Muriel was always guided by her strong faith and her belief in fairness. She was a smart and very intuitive person who was a great judge of character. Muriel was a natural teacher and mentor. She was full of insightful words of wisdom. She made an amazing contribution to those who were lucky enough to be around her for any period of time.
Muriel had a wonderful sense of style and always carried herself with dignity. Many of us will remember her dressed for church or for a special occasion. She dressed tastefully and often topped off her outfit with a stunning hat. Her sense of style was probably enhanced by her creativity. She was great at many crafts and she was a good cook. Muriel loved music, reading, dancing and getting together with friends for a gathering or a favourite meal. Everyone was welcome at her apartment.
Muriel we will miss you. You were loved and you did so much for others. Thank you for a life well-lived.
Visitation will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 21 Simonston Blvd, Thornhill, Wednesday March 27th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Urn interment to follow at a later date, at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.
