Obituary of Muriel Ellen Embury
Muriel E. Embury
Born 1924 and passed away peacefully in her sleep March 16, 2019 at Misericordia Place.
She is survived by her son Robert, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and abroad. She was pre-deceased by her husband John and son David.
Muriel was born and raised in Newport, Isle of Wight, England. She met and married her husband John in 1944. At the time he stationed with Canadian troops in England. At the end of W.W. 2 he returned to Canada and subsequently was followed by his War Bride and their son. They settled in Winnipeg and bought a wartime house in Transcona. A few years later, a second son David joined the family. They remained in that house until health issues made them take up residence in a senior’s condominium. They lived there until John passed away. After a period of time Muriel took up residence in a care home, Misericordia Place. The family sincerely thanks the staff of Misericordia Place (MP2) for their thoughtful care and attention to Muriel while she was residing there.
Following cremation she will be interned alongside her husband and son in the Transcona cemetery. In accordance with her wishes there will be no ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Misericordia Foundation directed to long-term care.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Muriel
