Obituary for
Maureen Grimes
Margaret Maureen Grimes (nee Donohue), after a brief illness passed into God’s hands on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Maureen, beloved wife of the late Michael Arthur Grimes, loving mother to CarolAnn (Gord Argo), Sandra (Mark Lewars) and Michael (Peggy Siegfried) and devoted grandmother to Kyle, Ryan and Tyler Lewars, Bradley (Jenna Tennant) and Zachary Argo and Grady Grimes. Survived by her sisters Estelle Flynn (late Patrick), Kathleen Elliott (James), her brother Charles Donohue (Carol Wilkie), brother-in-law, Gerald Anderson and sisters-in-law Joan Saver (late Jack) and Mary Haak and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William and Kathleen Donohue, sister Monica Anderson and her brothers O’Donnell, Kevin (late Mary O’Neill), Sylvester (late Joan Russett and late Colleen McEachen), Thomas (late Kathleen Foy) and James, niece Susan Crozier and sister-in-law Ruth Roberts.
Our special thanks to the respirology and palliative care doctors and most especially the nursing staff on 6 NW at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate and respectful care of our mother in her last week. Your kindness to our family will never be forgotten.
Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Wednesday, March 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Thursday at 11 a.m.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation – General Campus, Palliative Care Unit. www.ohfoundation.ca/
