Mary Ethel Davidson
1940-2019
Mary Ethel (Phinney) Davidson – age 78, of Wolfville,
formerly of Greenfield, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday,
March 10, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Middleton, she
was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Beckwith)
Phinney. Mary graduated from Bridgetown Rural High School
and received her diploma in nursing from the Ottawa Civic
Hospital. It was while in Ottawa that she met her husband
Hugh. Mary was an avid runner and competed in many local and
international races including the Boston and Dublin Marathons, the
Valley Harvest Marathon and the Cabot Trail Relay Race as a member of
the Grey Hounds. Mary loved to spend time out gardening and never
missed an opportunity to be around her grandchildren. Her zest for
life and positive attitude were contagious for everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Hugh Davidson;
daughters, Erica (Lisa) McGill, Jennifer (Dr. David) Ingham, both of
Wolfville, Elizabeth (Dr. Trevor) Hove, Yorkton, SK; son Rob (Mary)
Leduc, AB; grandchildren, Megan (Michael) McLean, Cameron, Matthew,
Etain, Caleb, Bredin, Samuel, Fiona, Delaney, and Chloe. She
is also survived by her brother, Arthur (Carolyn) Phinney and sister,
Jean (Bill) Phinney. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a
grandson, Jeremy Ingham. A celebration of life followed by a reception
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 16, 2019 at the White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Cremation has taken place and there
will be no visitation, by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can
be made to the Jeremy Ingham Cancer Research Trust c/o IWK Foundation

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
