Peacefully at Grey Gables Nursing Home, on Monday, March 5, 2019 in her 84th year. Loving mother of Peter(Charlene) Reed of Kingston, Jim King of Toronto, Selma(Dale) Mitchell of Flesherton and Susan King of Grimsby. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Stephen(Kaitlin), Bradley, Brett(Alicia) and James(Kelsey). Mary will be greatly missed by her siblings Shirley Reed of Ironbridge, Ivan Reed (Sheila) of Kelowna BC, Helen Tullock (Don) of Blind River, Beth Aquash(Genson) of Blind River and Karen Reed of Broadview, SK. Predeceased by brother Willard Reed.
Mary was born in Ironbridge, ON in 1935. She moved to southern Ontario when she was a young women to marry Wesley and started her family. After some years, they divorced and she moved to spend the majority of her years living in Owen Sound. For many years, Mary struggled greatly with mental health issues, in a time when there was minimal aid for it. She did her best to not let it stop her. Mary has a great love of cooking and caring for those less privileged . She loved spending time with her family and their pets, especially a border collie named Colten.
As per Mary’s wishes, a private family service has been planned. Donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Grey Gables Day Away Program.
