It is with great sadness, that we must announce the sudden passing of my best friend, my soul mate my loving husband….
Marcel Grimard of Alix, Alberta, loving husband and father of seven children, was tragically taken on March 25, 2019 at the age of 57 years.
Marcel was born on July 2, 1961 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Laurant and Suzanne (Casavant) Grimard and was the eldest of six children.
Marcel was a “Tough as Nails” dedicated hard worker, he had a huge heart, soft soul and an enormous love for family and children. Marcel recently decided that it was time to leave his career in the oil field and “come home” and join his wife and family and pursue their dream of expanding their old-fashioned Ice Cream Pizza Diner.
He had a “dream big” and make it happen attitude.
Marcel was also an amazing musician and could play any instrument that he picked up. He enjoyed singing, writing music and playing his guitar every chance, he could get.
He was a proud father and papa, not only to his own children and grandchildren, but to many of the children in the community. He was forever giving out free milkshakes and ice cream to the kids that came into the Diner. He loved seeing how big their eyes got when he handed them a cone and their smiles “warmed his heart.”
Marcel had a passion for helping those in need and would host a free turkey dinner every major holiday for anyone who was without or had no family over the holidays.
His favorite saying was “this one is on me.”
Marcel was predeceased by his parents Laurent and Suzanne Grimard. Marcel is survived by his loving wife Malonie Grimard; children: Cindy, Brian, Hailee (Luke), Amanda (Chris), Daylon, Jacqueline and Suzanne; grandchildren: Shandel, Payton, Lia, August and Yvette-Lee; brother-in-law Dennis; brothers and sisters: Laurelle (Colin), Raynald (Lisa), Jocelyne (Coleman), Nicole (Lyle) and Gerard (Carissa); as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews as well as many dear friends.
