It is with sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mae Audrey ton, 80, on Monday, March 4, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Florence on July 21,1938, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Katie (Dickson) MacIntosh.
Mae Audrey was a faithful member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the Atlantic Missionary Society, and was a member of the Hospitality Committee.
Mae Audrey was retired from Heather Buildings Supplies and also worked at the North Sydney Credit Union.
Mae Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ches, three sons; Wayne (Janice) Sackville, Ralph (Cathy) Saint John NB, Grant, Sydney Mines, and her daughter, Dawn (Blair) Bras d’Or. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved; Chris, Nathan, Katie, Logan, and Kaitlyn, two sisters, Ruby Squarey, and Rodney (Ralph) King, two brothers, Tommy and John, and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son Brett; sisters, Olga, Lois, Margaret, Althea and brothers, Hugh, Everett, Alvin, Robert, Melrose, Donald and Daniel, father and mother in-law John and Lillian (Bailey) ton.
Mom took great comfort in knowing Brett would be waiting at the gates of heaven with his big smile to welcome her.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service celebrating Mae Audrey’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 2 p.m. in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Marion Barclay MacKay officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, or to St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
