It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Jenkins – Butt, age 90 years, fomerly of Summerford, NL announce her passing at the Lewisporte Health Centre on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
She is predeceased by her parents Frank & Melina Brown, husbands Otto Jenkins & Winston Butt, daughter Gola, siblings Stratt, Dodd, Varrick, Daisy, Sunshine, sons-in-law Harvey Barnes and Chesley Noel.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children Evelyn (Leander) Barnes, Rosena Noel, Wallace (Elizabeth), Mable, Lorraine Barnes, Wanda (David) Barnes, Dorman, Emily (Keith) Hill, Bradley (Josephine), 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Resting at the Summerford Pentecostal Church with public visitation on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. as well as Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor D. Young officiating.
Donations in Lucy’s memory may be given to Alzheimer’s Society or the Summerford Pentecostal Church.
Lucy was born in Deer Lake, NL, to Frank & Melina Brown. She married Otto Jenkins on October 10, 1946. They lived in Summerford, NL and raised a family until his passing in 1981. She remarried Winston Butt in January 1987 until his passing in 2012. Lucy resided at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL until her passing.
