Liqin Wu
Liqin Wu, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Anshan City, China, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 81 years.
Liqin was born and raised in Liaoyang City in China on April 6, 1937. She was employed at Angang Steel and Iron Company and worked in production control. She was an active union member who served the company faithfully for forty years and was missed very much by her fellow colleagues when she retired.
Liqin was a very good mother who took great responsibility towards all her children and grandchildren’s education. She was always thrifty and always had the wellbeing of the family at heart.
She loved to travel, cook, good food, and gardening. She was artistic in making improvements and alterations to her clothing.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Wuye Zhang, Yanan Zhang, and Huan Zhang; grandchildren: Tianying Zhang, Tianchen Sun, Kaili Zhang, and, Kevin Zhang; daughter in-law Ying Chang Zhao and son in-law Kwong Tat Boey.
She was predeceased by her husband Fu Lin Zhang.
A Viewing will be held Monday, March 11, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB (10005 107 Ave.).
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 1:30pm, at Langley Lawn Cemetery in Langley, BC (4393 208 St.).
