It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Leonardo Fazari on March 3rd, 2019 in his 87th year. Born in San Giorgio, Morgeto, Italy, Leonardo leaves behind his best friend and wife of 63 years, Natalina (nee Raso) and his children Joe (Gina), Lina, and Mike (Margaret). Leonardo’s greatest joy was spending time with his seven grandchildren: Alexander, Natalie, Bianca, Joseph, Santina, Amanda, and Michael. Leonardo is predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Pasqualina, and was a brother and brother-in-law to Domenic and Rosina, Pasquale and Maria, Giacomino (spelling?) and Mimma (spelling?), Natalino and Natalina, Maria and the late Dominic, Concetta and Giuseppe, Nancy and Antonio. Also brother and brother-in-law to the late Vincenzo (Nancy), Concetta (the late Michele), Angela (the late Gesu), the late Giuseppe (Pasqualina), the late Domenic (Luba), and the late Elena (Domenic). In addition, Leonardo will be sadly missed by many additional family and friends in Canada and Italy. Leonardo spent his diligent working life of 40 years at Fearman’s Meats. He will always be remembered for his love of gardening where he would spend countless hours tending to one of his greatest joys. The family would like to thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital, particularly the staff at floor C4 especially Meagan (spelling?), for their care and compassion over the last couple months of Leonardo’s life. Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St. E., on Friday, March 8th from 2-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, 714 King St. W., Hamilton, on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Juravinski Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
